Skills/Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION OF THE JOB:

Must be able to lift up to 60 lb. plants 30-50 times each day. Must be able to climb ladders and have good dexterous use of both hands. Must be able to use pruners, hand saws, shovels and other small tools. Must be able to apply leaf cleaners and insecticides using hand held pump sprayers and electric sprayers. Must be able to drive large delivery trucks in all weather conditions and have safe driving record. Must be able to professionally communicate with clients and have a neat and clean appearance.

 

This is strenuous work requiring good vision, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and the ability to work in varying greenhouse and outdoor weather conditions.                                                 

FACILITY

1.    Open and close greenhouse / warehouse facility

Greenhouse / warehouse facility is to be opened and unlocked daily by 7:00 am and locked secure each evening. This includes all gates, warehouse doors, overhead doors and interior warehouse offices. Arrangements for facility access are to be made as required for projects or freight receiving after normal working hours. This may require personal involvement or the issuing and administration of keys to non-management personnel on an individual as needed basis.

 

2.    General property/facility maintenance

General upkeep of buildings, greenhouse and surrounding areas. Grounds should be inspected for trash and cleaned as necessary. Buildings and grounds in need of maintenance should be brought to supervisor's attention. Facility is to be maintained as required. Included are doors, locks, heating and A/C, plumbing, electrical, well, irrigation system, etc. Projects outside the scope of in-house expertise or time constraints are to be contracted as necessary. Greenhouse and warehouse are to be organized and swept to a broom clean condition daily.

 

INVENTORY CONTROL

1.    Maintain installation supply inventory

Supplies as listed on current Installation Supply Order Form are to be maintained and ordered bi-monthly as needed no later than the 15th and 31st of each month. Supplies are to be ordered through the operations manager and at no time should any supply items be depleted. Ongoing evaluation of potential new products/supplies should continually occur.

 

2.    Order green goods, seasonal color and materials as needed for Installations, replacements and inventory stock

Work orders are to be reviewed daily to insure all Inventory items, non-stock items, seasonal color, materials and other required products are to be ordered as needed.

 

3.    Receiving

Inventory, material and supply items will be received on a daily basis. Items are to be immediately inspected for damage, properly stored and packing slips verified.
