Job Description

Bon Appetit Management company seeks an experienced, efficient, detail-oriented individual to serve as a Catering Event Manager for our Willamette University account.

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Passion for great food and great service

  • An eye for detail when it comes to the look and feel of catered events and banquets

  • Demonstrable skill at managing service staff in a positive and effective manner

  • Five years experience in a high-volume catering or banquet environment

  • Three years supervisory experience in a food service setting

  • Valid Driver License / Oregon Food Handler Card / OLCC Alcohol Service Permit

  • Ability to pass a pre-hire background check

This is a full-time hourly position offering variable daytime, evening, and weekend hours. Actual schedule is dependent upon catered event schedule.

Wage is dependent upon experience.

Skills/Requirements

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Coordinating, supervising, and working side-by-side with catering staff to ensure:

    • Complete and timely delivery / setup / execution of catered events

    • Appropriate attire and guest service standards

    • Accountability to proper sanitation and food safety procedures

    • Proper labor controls and adequate breaks

    • Safe work practices and habits

 

  • Working with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure:

    • Adherance to production and delivery timelines for catered food

    • Quality products from temperature, taste, and appearance standpoints

    • Proper packaging and plattering for safe and secure delivery

    • Understanding of menu ingredients and potential allergens

 

  • Directing on and off-site catered event setups with regard to:

    • Complete, attractive, and consistent setup of seating tables, buffet lines, action stations, bars, and beverage tables

    • Coordinating produce décor, floral arrangements, and other decorative elements specified by our standards or client request

    • Printing and distributing identifying signage and menu cards

    • Serving as our client ambassador and point-of-contact during catered events
