Job Description

A  Regional Controller for Bon Appétit Management Company oversees and performs all account financial requirements per Bon Appétit Management Company standard practices. Inputs accounting information to include payroll and ARs.  Ensures that all time lines are followed.  Reviews weekly accounting package with General Manager.  Generates all statistic and quarterly reports and budgets.  Handles Café coupon distribution. Checks and oversees Bookkeeper’s work. Performs internal Café audits.  Generates all Client requested reports.

 

Responsibilities:

•Monitor and maintain prompt routine preparation and reporting of retail productivity measures.

•Provide personal support and training for unit managers with unit bookkeeping as needed.

•Assist with and oversee the monthly close process, providing the bridge between unit management and corporate HQ.

•Monitor and improve local controls and accounting procedures where weaknesses are identified at unit level.

•Establish routines for weekly operating and profitability reports, focusing on provision of accuracy and relevant, prompt information for management.

•Provide prompt analysis of month end results for the operational team, including unit management.

•Prepare detailed and summary forecasts as required.

•Lead the preparation of detailed and rolled up annual budgets.

Skills/Requirements

Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance, MBA and/or CPA an advantage.

•7+ years experience in a similar operational accounting or financial reporting role a plus.

•Previous similar experience in a retail environment also an advantage.

•Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.

•Proficient in Excel, Word, knowledge of Access, PowerPoint SAP (spreadsheets and financial accounting software) advantageous.

•Ability to travel (30%-50%).

•Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication skills.
