Serve as a subject matter expert providing leadership, oversight, and validation for all aspects of our internal Registrar, Registry, and Aftermarket functions horizontally across all Domains products.  Evangelize and promote a culture of operational excellence through the Registrar Operations Center (ROC) and Domains Development teams. Plays a key role in facilitating problem solving for registration bottlenecks or service outages. Serves as a secondary to the Sr. Architect for most responsibilities, especially interfacing with external Registry partners on technical matters.

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as subject matter expert regarding all technical and operational aspects of the Registrar/Registry industry, providing tactical guidance to development, operations, and support teams.     
  • Own the creation and maintenance of Go Daddy’s “TLD Book of Knowledge” – a definitive listing of all supported and prospective TLDs, their characteristics, and performance statistics.          
  • Provide oversight, support and promote effective industry standards for domain processes and policies. Discuss, consider and propose new technical process between Go Daddy and Registry providers. Participation with groups such as ITEF (Internet Engineering Task Force) to promote what is accomplishable to improve Internet capability.              
  • Serve as the secondary technical point of contact for registry vendors in order to provide technical expertise.  
  • Develop/maintain knowledge for systems relating to domain registration and support of Go Daddy’s Registrar and Registry functions.        
  • Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting on health and scalability of Go Daddy’s Registrar, Registry and Aftermarket functions.
  • Provide industry training and support for Domains Development and Domain Services staff.     


 

 

Do you have what it takes?

 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Business or related degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in the Registrar or Registry industry; preferred.
  • Software Engineering experience; strongly desired.
  • Curiosity and drive to understand wide range of technology/policy knowledge
  • Effective problem solving with innovation and creativity
  • Implement ingenuity to find creative solutions for complex problems.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Develop/maintain detailed knowledge of Registrar/Registry interactions and functions.
  • Develop/maintain in-depth understanding of all technical aspects relating to the Internet, including DNS, Web Hosting, Networking, server hardware/software, etc.
  • Develop/maintain thorough knowledge of Go Daddy products and services.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills with clear, concise visuals and engaging presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and multi-task critical programs and projects.
  • Ability to summarize results, findings and strategies for product development teams.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools; MS Office, data queries, etc.
  • Ability to achieve specific results from general direction.
  • Ability to work independently and produce creative and practical solutions by interacting with peers and peer teams.
  • Experience guiding, leading or engaging industry/technology governance collaboration; IEEE, ITEF, ICANN, etc. is a plus for this position
  • Ability to communicate clearly with all levels of employees.
