As an ambassador of Eataly products and services, our Facilities Manager is responsible for helping to create and maintain quality experiences for each guest that comes to Eataly. Eataly ambassadors are expected to actively engage with guests and spend quality time with each customer.
Job Title: Facilities Manager
Reports To: General Manager of Eataly
Job Description: Eataly’s Facilities Manager will be responsible for the total maintenance of the retail and restaurant facilities and will ensure they remain efficient and in good working condition. The Facilities Manager will need to be extremely knowledgeable about commercial air conditioning, plumbing, electrical properties, refrigeration and other facilities upkeep and repair.
Our ideal candidate will have experience managing a large staff on a 24-hour schedule, and will have experience in managing multiple facility locations. The Facilities Manager will assume responsibility from beginning to end of all maintenance projects involving our restaurant and retail facilities, including, but not limited to: carpentry, electrical work, air conditioning and heating, kitchen equipment and lighting. This is a hands-on position and will require a proactive mechanic to identify equipment problems and prioritize a repair schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities:
--Will be responsible for the constant maintenance and for ensuring the efficiency and good working conditions of multiple 24 hour facilities. This includes all building, restaurant and retail facilities but is not limited to: walk-ins, Refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, cleaning services, Off-site Storage, all outside vendor contracts.
--Ensures that exceptionally clean and sanitary conditions are maintained and abiding by state and federal regulations at all times.
--Assess the current and ongoing condition of electrical, air conditioning, plumbing and other essential facilities and equipment in order to properly identify problems and anticipate needs.
--Maintains accurate records of the condition of all equipment and facilities in the building and creates a schedule of regular evaluation and maintenance of the facilities.
--Ensures the safety of the building regarding fire, flood or other hazards, and ensures the building remains compliant with state and federal standards.
--Trains, schedules and manages a 100-person housekeeping and engineering team and ensures appropriate accordance to Company policies and procedures.
Skills/Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
--State-licensed as a professional engineer
--Must have knowledge of compliance to OSHA and Department of Health requirements.
--Bachelor’s degree in a similar or related field is required.
--Minimum 5 years’ experience in the field.
--Bilingual in Spanish and English is strongly preferred.
--An effective leader and team resource, with fantastic communication and decision-making skills.
--Must have demonstrable and strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle many projects simultaneously.
