MRI Software is seeking a Software Development Managerto join our Product Development department! The Software Development Manager will directly manage a team of software engineers and quality assurance engineers by prioritizing work assignments for these direct reports, conducting daily and weekly team meetings, and reviewing overall individual and team performance. This individual will also be responsible for managing complex projects across other development teams as well as work with Chief Software Architect and Product Management teams to help define requirements and drive the execution of the technical roadmap. The Software Development Manager is also expected to assist in improving the team’s technical ability, utilization, and overall efficiency by establishing best practices and creating individual development plans. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who enjoys being hands on with engineering teams and possesses strong leadership and coaching abilities to help guide successful development strategies.

Direct project involvement and leadership of projects built with Microsoft programming technologies including .Net Framework, C#, VB.Net, SQL Server, TSQL, IIS, ASP
Understanding of SaaS, web services, ORM, XML, and web applications
Strong understanding of multiple development practices such as agile/scrum, XP, TSP
Excellent leadership, time management, communication, decision-making, presentation, human relations, and organization skills
5+ years of working experience in enterprise software design and development, preferably in Microsoft technologies
Proven capability as a lead software engineer or team manager utilizing an iterative and repeatable development process
Broad-based technical expertise including a strong understanding of programming concepts, database design, system architecture, and a detailed understanding of how things work
BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related area, or equivalent experience
