GROUND CREW FOREMAN- West Virginia Area

In this motivating and progressive position you will supervise and perform construction duties on a daily basis ensuring quality construction for expedited commercial deployment of services.  Supervise subcontractors and job site personnel to complete scope of work assigned.  Supervises, apprentice and technicians.  Assign duties, instruct, review, plan/schedule and coordinate work for the above employees. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Supervise crews on site.  Track worked hours, performance and management while onsite.   
  • Responsible for all activities on assigned jobs including safety, documentation, time schedule, and cost overruns
  • Report progress of job and upcoming material, labor and equipment needs to keep the job on schedule to Project Manager
  • Initiate decisions related to minor changes in scope of work or deviations from customer supplied drawings or prints
  • Document all change orders
  • Inspect and approve all sub-contractor's work. 
  • Schedule and coordinate with all local authorities for required inspections. 
  • Complete work in a timely and efficient manner by planning, prioritizing and mobilizing staff, materials and subcontractors to meet progression schedule. 
  • Ensure Superintendent is apprised of construction progress, concerns and deviations from plans or established schedule. 
  • Identify all materials and other resources needed to complete project. 
  • Coordinate resources to meet construction schedules. 
  • Coordinate delivery and off-loading of towers, materials, generators and shelters. 
  • May identify construction "punch list" of items to be remedied and ensure they are completed prior to customer's inspection. 
  • May finalize all inspections to close project. 
  • Ensure tasks assigned to crew are completed in timely, quality manner. 
  • Train and assist employees in completing tasks. Professionally interact with client's representatives. 
  • May maintain and enforce all Dynis and OSHA safety practices, perform daily jobsite safety inspections on equipment prior to operation. Immediately stops work when unsafe work practices or conditions exist. 
  • Must be able to work overtime to include Saturdays, Sundays and evening hours. 
  • Perform other duties as required. 
 

Skills/Requirements

Required Skills and Experience

  • Telcordia Level 4
  • 3+ years construction background required (preferably telecommunications), with at least one year of management experience.
  • Able to read blueprints, details and specifications.
  • Commercial/residential electrical experience preferred.
  • Cald-weld or other thermo-weld training a plus.
  • AC/DC power and back up battery system experience a plus.
  • Certified to install Andrews connectors helpful.
  • Experience and in-depth knowledge of DC and AC power in a telecommunications environment.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills to communicate to customers, and Dynis employees.
  • Strong knowledge of national and local electrical codes.
  • Experience with cold and hot power cut-overs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook.
  • Attentive to detail.
  • Work flexible shift, weekends, nights, and days, including limited travel.
 
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 
Valid Driver’s License required, CDL preferred.
