GROUND CREW LEAD - West Virginia Area

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
  • On-site supervision of all related construction activities defined in the scope-of-work both day and night. 
  • Maintain project timeline. 
  • Complete daily per site field reports. 
  • Complete daily per site Job Safety Analysis. 
  • Provide site scope input. 
  • Collect all on-site closeout documentation and submit to the closeout manager per the deliverable timelines. 
  • Review all on-site closeout documentation for accuracy, completeness and timeliness. 
  • Participate in continuous training offered by CSI. 
  • Responsible for site crew quality, timeliness, accuracy and schedule. 
  • Do grounding, terminations, fastening, proper bolting and antioxidant use, support of leads, cad-welding as required, etc. 
  • Assist on overall job on ground work as well, all tasks required to build and install a site per customer specs, maintain safe work environment, daily use and completion of JSA forms, assisting with overall crew work, maintenance of vehicles and equipment, etc. Will continue to work towards training and certifications for tower related work. 
  • Must know how to read and understand drawings, piping diagrams, job specifications, mounting specs, testing procedures, etc. Must be able to work in a team environment on the crew and be a valued member of the team and the company. 
  • If required, schedules permit inspections with local municipality. 
  • Knowledge of AC and DC power systems along with telecommunication RBS cabinet installations. 
  • Oversee sub-contractors for concrete additions, forming, grounding and trenching
 
 
General Duties
 
The position you are applying for may not require expertise knowledge in all of the following, but all Leads should have a general understanding of the following:
  • Read and interpret building plans, electrical, mechanical and architectural drawings and electrical code specifications to determine wiring installations.
  • Cut, thread, bend, assemble and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings.
  • Pull wire through conduits and holes in walls and floors.
  • Lay out, assemble, install, repair, maintain, connect and test electrical fixtures, apparatus control equipment and wiring for fire alarm, communication, light, heat and power systems
  • Position, install and maintain distribution and control equipment such as circuit breaker panel boards, fuse enclosures, switch boxes, pull-boxes and related devices.
  • Splice, join and connect wire to form circuits.
  • Install data cabling and fiber optic systems.
  • Test electrical circuits to ensure integrity and safety.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Ensure safety of all employees by following all safety rules and procedures.
  • You will be expected to do precision work and adhere to industry standards for installation, repairs and safety. 
 

Skills/Requirements

 

Required Skills and Experience
  • Telecodia level 3 at a minimum.
  • Diagnose electrical problems using various meters and related equipment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.
  • Understanding of National Electrical Code.
  • Have good communication skills.
  • Good reading skills to interpret drawings and electrical code specifications.
  • Teamwork skills when working on large projects with co-workers.
  • Mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Manual dexterity required to perform precision work.
  • The ability to distinguish colors in order to work with color-coded wiring.
  • Problem solving abilities to change installation techniques to on-site working conditions.
  • Strength and the ability to work at heights on construction sites.
