Essential Functions:

  • Performs complex design, engineering, implementation, maintenance, and upgrade of the local area network (LAN) and/or wide area network (WAN), and/or security infrastructure.
  • Provides complex internal analysis and support of the network and security infrastructure
  • Periodically reviews technical documentation of environments supported to ensure that documentation is accurate and up-to-date
  • Creates and revises network documentation
  • Provides reporting on network metrics as needed
  • Proactively anticipates networking and security needs for planning and budgeting
  • Reviews network and/or security service/maintenance arrangements.
  • Design and maintain network environments to comply with relevant compliance standards (e.g. Sarbanes-Oxley)
  • Develops business continuity and disaster recovery plans, and maintains current knowledge of plan executable.
  • Responds to critical network outages in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Position will require ability to move and rack hardware.
  • Position will require being available to perform maintenance during non-business hours and over weekends.
  • Available for no more than 40% travel

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent work experience)
  • Requires a minimum of six years of network engineering experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco hardware and F5 (LTM, GTM) Application Load Balancing
  • Comprehensive knowledge of network and security principles
  • Knowledge of network design and management best practices
  • Comprehensive knowledge of security principles and networking - LAN/WAN and Internet technologies
  • Highly skilled in network performance analysis and troubleshooting complex technical problems
  • Adaptability to change
  • Effective time & prioritization management
  • Ability to work well with the team, individually, and as a mentor
  • Ability to lead projects
  • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills including demonstrated experience presenting technology recommendations from a business perspective.
  • Participates in an on call rotation to provide 24x7 support
  • Position will require ability to move and rack hardware.
  • Position will require being available to perform maintenance during non-business hours and over weekends.
