Job Description

This is a proactive recruitment search for a potential future opening.

Position Purpose:

The Sales Applications Engineer is responsible for the development of thermal designs, cost estimates, quotations, as well as providing necessary support to our customers and outside sales staff/representatives.  This includes all aspects of the sale of our products including but not limiting to thermal rating, specification review, estimating, quoting and helping to close the sale.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support customer request for quotations through thermal application engineering, specification review, equipment costing, price build-up, quotation preparation, submittal and order entry process.
  2. Follow-up on quotations as necessary to close orders.
  3. Ensure projects are quoted at levels that meet or exceed profit expectations.
  4. Identify and pursue new business opportunities and risk to current business.  Including development and support of new and existing OEM customers and sales representatives.
  5. Additional responsibilities
    1. Sales training of new reps covering new and existing products, doing customer sales presentations.
    2. Visit customers and Sales Representatives, as required, to enhance business opportunities and/or resolve outstanding issues.
    3. Keep management aware of potential threats to the business, including those related to customer satisfaction, competitors’ activities, and general market changes.
    4. Liaison with all other departments as required ensuring smooth execution of business.
    5. Other duties as required by management.

Education and Experience:

  1. BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. 5years of experience working with Heat Exchangers in a similar role required.
  3. Working knowledge of Heat Exchangers required.
  4. Inside sales experience designing capital equipment required.

Travel:

  1. Approximately 5 - 10% travel required (mostly domestic).
