MECHANICAL, INDUSTRIAL, MANUFACTURING ENGINEER MAJORS NEEDED FOR OPEN SUMMER INTERNSHIP ROLES -June TO August 2013

US Pipe and Foundry

1295 Whipple Road

Union City, CA

 

US Pipe is looking for talented, dedicated mechanical, industrial, and/or manufacturing engineers for summer internship roles for our Union City, CA facility. 

 

To qualify, our ideal candidates will possess the following:

 

  • Must be at least 3rd year in college up to grade school level student enrolled in a creditable university
  • Must be majoring in mechanical, industrial, and/or manufacturing engineering 
  • Previous internships with proven projects is a plus
  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Good attention to detail with a strong sense of urgency
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio
  • Must be able to work flexible hours

 

Additional Areas of Expertise:

  • Ability to complete assigned projects in a fast paced, heavy manufacturing environment
  • Good presentation skills
  • High level of integrity; solid team player
  • Detail oriented with the ability to be self-directed and facilitate teamwork
  • Ability to make good decisions under time pressure deadlines
  • Reliable and dedicated with excellent attendance

Hourly Rate, Work Hours, and Assignment length:

* Hourly Rate Range:  $18.00 - $20.00 depending on year in college and previous internship experience

* Must be able to work at least forty (40) hours per week
