As a Director of Customer Insights at Go Daddy, you will leverage your passion for helping small businesses achieve their dreams online. Effectively answer the individual needs of our ten million plus small business customers, through effective translation of customer insights into actionable business intelligence and strategy.  You’ll partner with key stakeholders across the business – sales, marketing, product, technology, and beyond to provide the critical understanding of our customers and their voice.

You will be a leader on our customers: segmentation, targeting, demand moments, perceptions, product affinity / fit, competitors, and the marketplace. You will be comfortable both performing and leveraging customer research, knowing how to most effectively create and uncover the data you need to aid our business and better serve and grow our customers. 

In this role, you will:

  • Proactively identify opportunities for business-advancing intelligence and analysis
  • Partner in the crafting of business strategies to meet our customer needs, enhance our offerings, and further Go Daddy in the marketplace
  • Consult and provide critical support to business partners to fully understand their needs, developing research and information sharing approaches to ensure their success: customer growth, improved satisfaction levels, trial/usage, and profitability
  • Build value by proactively finding ways to leverage our data to better serve our customers and win in the marketplace
  • As appropriate lead the creation, management, and application of critical qualitative and quantitative market research that leads to actionable insights
  • Present relevant findings and consultation to audiences spanning the business – from executive level to customer facing support roles; provide regular views into key metrics and facts
  • Refine company approach to customer feedback, refine our NPS roadmap and work across delivery mechanisms and channels to ensure we cohesively understand what our customers are experiencing with our products and company interactions
  • Identify and manage external partners/vendors – from RFP to full delivery
  • Creatively leverage all data sources available – social sentiment harvesting, syndicated studies, secondary works, and more to rapidly expand understanding and deliver insight 

Do you have what it takes? 

  • Three to seven plus years in customer insights, strategic marketing, or similar capacity
  • Proven competence in market research and data analysis, in particular small business/consumer research
  • International market understanding and research experience a plus
  • Proficiency in business systems and data analysis tools
  • Outstanding quantitative skills, with the ability to frame business problems analytically
  • Ability to influence and present in-group and one-on-one settings
  • Rapid pace of work, capability to jump into any/all stages of the research process to deliver positive outcomes
  •  Bachelors degree required, MBA degree strongly preferred
  • Motivated individual contributor, someone who knows how to ‘get it done’ – whether it means rolling up your sleeves and ‘doing it yourself’ or working through partners/vendors as appropriate
  • Possess a scrappy ability to meet the intelligence and research needs of your key partners across the business, while being hungry to deliver application and relevance of your work
  • An out of the box thinker – quick with ideas and approaches to gain critical customer understanding to solve business questions
  • Comfortable around data and market research, knowing how to be both practical and effective:
    • Skill at translating business needs into data exploration and research
    • Working knowledge of market research methodologies and application
    • Ability to conduct basic research efforts yourself – perform analysis, and translate into value-add business recommendations
  • An  effective partner with our business at all levels and departments, strong in communication and needs assessment, understanding success comes through helping internal partners achieve their goals
