Basic Purpose

Performs complex testing tasks requiring planning, scheduling, and testing to assure that developed products meet design specifications and are within total quality management limits and standards. Develops and executes test plans, and reviews the product from a user perspective to ensure that all functional requirements are met. Communicates with product developers and technical support specialists on product issues. Operates under minimal supervision.


  • Participate in project design sessions from a usability perspective and/or as a domain expert
  • Interface with Developers and Business Analysts to develop and implement test plans, test cases and maintain an audit trail
  • Participate in review of test cases written by other testers
  • Perform functional, installation, integration, stress, load, performance, system, and documentation testing
  • Test user interfaces and APIs if applicable
  • Identify and prioritize important program defects and enter into defect-tracking tool; track status of reported defects and take appropriate action for timely resolution of outstanding problems
  • Contribute to development estimates and schedule
  • Demonstrate/encourage teamwork among Aderant, clients, and other parties
  • Continual self development in technical, business and analytic areas



Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in business or computer science is preferred
  • Strong communication, writing and editing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Proficiency in problem recognition and solving skills
  • Be able to work well as part of a team and to form liaisons with other groups in order to achieve a desired objective
  • Be a self-starter and have an ability to work with little direct supervision on projects
  • Dedication to producing quality work and completing tasks within specified time frames
  • Some proficiency in testing methodologies, testing products, UI best practices, and design
  • Demonstrates troubleshooting and issue resolution skills
  • Desire/initiative/ability to learn more advanced technical and design concepts
  • Operational understanding of MS Office Applications: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Microsoft Outlook experience
  • Microsoft SQL Server experience
  • Microsoft Windows experience, all versions and editions
