Job Description

The QC Microbiologist is responsible for performing routine testing of raw materials and fisnished products for both Core and Licaps in accordance with cGMP, CCFR, compendial, and customer specifications. Responsbilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Performing environmental testing, water testing, organism identification, and bioburden testing related to finished good and raw materials
  • Support validation activities
  • Initiate and conduct laboratory investigations
  • Establish laboratory test schedules for raw materials
  • Samples for in-process, environmental, and finished capsule samples for Core and Licaps Business unit
  • Participate in plant microbial control and sanitation programs
  • Provide guidance and solutions to production department for micro-related contamination issues,
  • Purchase lab supplies and equipment
  • Participate in special project teams as needed
  • Paricipate in customer and regulatory audits as needed

Skills/Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a B.S. degree in Microbiology or related Sciences and 1+ years experience working in a Microbiology Lab in Pharamaceutical or related GMP regulated industry.
  • Must have knowledge of lab equipment and operation and of USP/EP methodology, cGMP's and GLP's.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal skills with attention to detail.
