As Software Architect, you will lead the design of state of the art Solid State Drive (SSD) software products for the enterprise market. With prior strong software experience in architecting system-level products, you will be responsible for robustness and performance of highly innovative SSDs.
In this highly technical and hands-on role, the responsibilities include:
Design software and system-level operation for an entire product SSD platform guiding the multi-disciplined development teams through complex storage technology challenges including key technical performance metrics.
Use independent judgment to overcome technical challenges and provide technical recommendations.
Represent the software team on the multi-disciplined engineering core team.
Provide detailed project technical pulse to the management team.
Assist the customer teams in initial customer engagements.

The successful candidate will have 12+ years combination of knowledge and experience as follows:
BS EE / BS CS (or equivalent) and 10 years of experience
Or MS EE / MS CS (or equivalent) and 8 years of experience
Multi-platform experience – Windows and Linux at a minimum, VMware or other hypervisor experience is desired.
Experience building complete product stack (kernel to user mode management) – control and data path.
Demonstrated understanding of performance engineering.
Strong knowledge of storage products and architectures to thorough understanding of the competitive landscape of our products. This includes knowledge of price, performance, and the overall storage market.
Understand the -ilities (Availability, Reliability, Usability, Manageability, etc.)
Experience defining customer testing environments and guiding the selection of performance benchmarks for measuring our products.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to succinctly describe and summarize highly technical information both verbally and in writing. Strong reasoning with the ability to influence outcomes and lead technical discussions.
Unwavering commitment to doing things right the first time.
Proven experience mentoring an engineering team for cohesion and optimal performance.
Ability to read, write and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and emails in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to internal customers and other employees of the organization.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
