As part of the Merchandise Planning and Analytics team, you will support the management by determining financial forecasts, assortment plans, and innovative pricing strategies for new and established products. In this role you will bring strategic insights, analytical rigor and business judgment to merchandise planning and pricing.


  • Perform sales analysis by business category. Provide sales and receipt targets to buying counterparts.
  • Create assortment plans for use during market buy meetings.
  • Develop product pricing strategies that optimize sales and margin.  Develop knowledge of customer shopping behaviors, category strategies, and key business drivers as input to pricing strategy.
  • Review style selling to identify best-sellers and slow-sellers. Identify re-order and markdown opportunities.
  • Partner with the Marketing team to continually evaluate marketplace dynamics.  Assess the impact on Fab business, and develop pricing strategy recommendations.
  • Establish and test pricing hypotheses, measure results, and develop strategy insights and implications. Implement price changes as necessary to maintain category pricing strategies.
  • Participate in merchandise strategy meetings with the buyers to understand overall goals, budgets, and strategies, and drive assortment decisions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience in business analysis and strategy development in a retail or consumer-packaged goods environment.
  • BA/BS degree (preferably in Business, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics)
  • Results driven, with a desire to work in a startup environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills required (familiarity with SQL a plus).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Readily grasps numerical concepts and interprets financial information accurately; ability to utilize retail math skills to analyze and drive business.
  • Strong project leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple concurrent initiatives that have significant financial impact.
  • Strong modeling and presentation skills, experience and comfort with statistical modeling packages, and comfort with large datasets.
  • Outstanding strategic thinking and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to synthesize facts and insights into concrete, actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communicator, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
